Our Journey

For the past five years, my husband and I have poured our dedication into this venture. Our transition began during the pandemic—a time when many rediscovered the peace of a backyard sanctuary.

While I balanced life as a wife and mother of three, traveling between San Francisco and the Big Island, I worked to bridge my husband’s family’s generational expertise with our son’s strong and kind heart. He took the courage to stay on the island and manage our growth while we were still building from the mainland remotely. That combination of heritage, youthful bravery, and local values is what defines us.

Education is the key to a thriving water feature. In 2025, we hosted two successful seminars that built a thriving community of enthusiasts. There is no obligation to purchase; we simply want you to leave with professional knowledge and peace of mind.

The Open Table & Our Heritage

We believe in a circular economy. We hire local kitchens to cater our events because when we support their business, we all grow together. 2025 was a bountiful year, and we celebrated by opening our doors to everyone.

Whether guests RSVP’d or were just passing by for coffee, they were welcomed with total respect. We invited in neighbors, folks waiting in their trucks, and even visiting families. One family joined us during their daughter’s birthday; we came back with a cheesecake to celebrate her and sat with their abuela, sharing a connection that went far beyond business.

That evening brought the whole shopping center to life. Whether people were checking their mail, going to the bank, or just running errands, they were welcomed to join us. We drew in local uncles and aunties who stayed to talk story and share a meal. We offered an open menu so guests could enjoy themselves without worry.

This is the spirit I grew up with. From the provinces of the Philippines to the parties my family hosted in San Francisco, we were taught to bring out plenty of food and make everyone feel at home. To us, there is always enough to share.

Welcome! As a mother and son-operated business, we specialize in bringing you water feature components and large-format materials typically only available on the mainland. Our unique location requires specific policies to maintain efficiency and offer you the best value.

1. Understanding Local Pricing & Island Costs 💰

We believe in full transparency. Due to the logistical realities of Hawaiʻi, the final cost of our products may differ from the mainland Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).

This is standard for the islands, influenced by:

• Ocean & Air Freight: The primary driver of price is the non-negotiable cost of moving heavy or bulky goods across the Pacific.

• Island Logistics: Extra resources and care are needed for local handling and the general cost of doing business in Hawaiʻi.

• Specialized Inventory: We maintain a reliable supply chain to ensure these professional materials are accessible to our local community.

2. Final Sale Commitment ⚠️

Due to the complexity and extreme expense of trans-oceanic logistics, we utilize a Direct-Ship Special Order Model for all large, bulky, or specialized rolls (LTL Ocean Freight).

All Sales are Final. Returns or exchanges are not accepted.

• Small Operation Sustainability: As a small family business, we cannot absorb the loss of returned inventory or the massive logistical costs of shipping items back to the mainland.

• Prohibitive Logistics: Reverse ocean freight for bulky items is high-risk and expensive. Eliminating these risks allows us to keep our local prices as low as possible.

• Customer Due Diligence: To ensure project success, we require all customers to verify measurements and specifications before placing their order.

3. Warranty Processing (Mechanical Items Only)

While all sales are final, we stand by the quality of the mechanical equipment we supply.

• Pumps & Pressure Filters: These items are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. We will act as your advocate to process claims for legitimate factory defects.

• Liners & Materials: Pond liners, underlayment, and plumbing parts are final sale and do not carry a warranty once accepted.

• Shipping Costs: AJ’S Paradise Pond Supplies, LLC is not responsible for any shipping costs associated with warranty claims. All costs to ship items to or from the manufacturer are the responsibility of the purchaser.

4. Lead Times & Delivery 🚢

• LTL Ocean Freight (Large/Palletized): Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for mainland transport and ocean transit.

• Southwest Cargo (In-Stock Items): Typically arrives within 2–3 business days.

• Recipient Responsibility: You are responsible for off-loading palletized items. If you need a residential lift gate, you must confirm this with the carrier when they schedule your delivery.
